No one in Virginia bought the winning $1.5 billion Powerball ticket.
But a total of $7 million in winning tickets were sold in the state — some of them in our area.
Here’s more from the Virginia Lottery:
$100,000 winners:
· Wawa, 15 Eustace Road, Stafford
$50,000 winners:
· Manassas Mall Exxon, 8289 Sudley Road, Manassas
· 7-Eleven, 15621 Jeff Davis Highway, Woodbridge
· 7-Eleven, 9402 Richmond Highway, Lorton
· 7-Eleven, 13940 Jeff Davis Highway, Woodbridge
· Super Giant, 5701 Plank Road, FredericksburgIf you add up all the winning tickets in Virginia for the January 13 Powerball drawing, it comes to nearly $7 million in prizes.
Those four $100,000 tickets would have won $50,000, except that whoever bought them spent an extra dollar for Power Play when he or she bought the ticket. Power Play increased the prize to $100,000.
Powerball drawings are held at 10:59 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays. Powerball drawings are broadcast on TV stations across Virginia and replayed on www.valottery.com. For more information on Powerball, visit www.powerball.com.
