A woman was charged with assaulting a police officer outside of the Prince William County Fair.
According to Prince William police, late in the evening on August 18, an officer that was directing traffic outside of the fair grounds on Dumfries Road in Manassas saw a vehicle improperly exiting the property.
Before the vehicle reached the roadway, it stopped and several individuals inside the car confronted another group that was leaving the fair grounds on foot, stated Prince William police.
The officer saw 20-year old Jazmine Jackson, who was one of the individuals in the vehicle, assault another female from the group on foot, stated Prince William police.
When the officer tried to detain Jackson, she resisted – pushing and hitting the officer, according to Prince William police. The officer was not injured.
Prince William police stated that the victim who was assaulted by Jackson left the scene before being questioned.
Jackson is being charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, stated Prince William police.
