Prince William fire and rescue were called to a vehicle fire on a service road near Possum Point Road in Triangle.
According to the Prince William Fire Marshal’s Office, responders from the Dumfries Triangle Volunteer Fire Department found a BMW on blocks on fire at the scene on the afternoon of June 6.
The Prince William Fire Marshal’s Office arrived at the scene when the vehicle was still on fire, and collected several pieces of evidence.
An investigation showed that the vehicle fire was intentional, stated the Prince William Fire Marshal’s Office.
The Prince William Fire Marshal’s Office was able to identify two individuals involved in the incident – Robert Basista and Timothy Wilburn – both Triangle residents. Both individuals were taken into Prince William police custody.
According to the Prince William Fire Marshal’s Office, Basista has been charged with arson to property greater than $200 and grand larceny of property greater than $200. Wilburn has been charged with one count of arson to property greater than $200.
