Updated: Theresa Elaine Brown in custody after hospital escape

Theresa Elaine Brown escaped from Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge this morning while on police custody. Officers apprehended her again this afternoon at the Dumfries Shopping Center in Dumfries.

A woman in police custody escaped after she was taken to a local hospital in Woodbridge.

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center @ 2300 Opitz Blvd. The below pictured suspect was arrested earlier this morning, February 13th, around 1:00AM, on several failure to appear and probation violation charges.

While in custody, the suspect complained of pain and was subsequently transported to the hospital for evaluation. While at the hospital, the suspect accessed a secure hallway from her room and was able to escape from the facility around 4:00AM.

No force was used in the escape and the suspect is not considered violent. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call police @ 703-792-6500.

Described as a black female, 5’2”, 220lbs with a heavy build – last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, black sweatpants and possibly no shoes
Currently wanted for escape from custody without force
