Snakehead Caught at Aquia Landing

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. – A large snakehead fish was caught at Aquia Landing Park at the confluence of the Potomac River and Aquia Creek.

The invasive species commonly found in the Potomac and lower Rappahannock rivers is classified as a predatory fish. It’s illegal for anglers to possess a snakehead in Virginia without a permit, and anglers must immediately kill the fish if caught.
