Titanic Slide a Hit at Dumfries Fall Fest

DUMFRIES, Va. — Dumfries celebrated their 12th annual Fall Festival this past weekend in Garrison Park behind Town Hall.

The event attracted singers and musicians to a live stage on the lawn, as well as children and adults who participated in a talent competition.

Rows of vendors of merchants and community organizations lined up to share wares and information with festival goers.

An inflatable slide fashioned after the Titanic was a big hit with children and parents.

By 2 p.m., festival organizer Cydny Neville said at least 300 people had come to the annual fair.

The town’s police department could not provide an official crowd estimate.

The Dumfries Fall Fest is one of several festivals held in the town each year. The town will hold it’s annual Holiday-Christmas Parade December 14, and will A Multicultural Festival is held in the spring.
