1 Taken to Hospital after Pickup vs. Armored Car Crash

NOKESVILLE, Va. — One man was taken away in an ambulance after a crash involving a Loomis armored car and a pickup on Va. 28 at Aden Road in Nokesville.

The victim was driving a Ford F-150 when the Loomis car  slammed into the back of the pickup. The collision sent the truck moving forward into a ditch, and left the Loomis truck’s engine steaming. Police on the scene charges for the Loomis driver were pending, but added an investigation was ongoing.

Immediately after the crash, both drivers got out of thier vehicles, the driver of the pickup letting out a scream as he exited the truck, and then called police.

After emergency crews arrived, traffic on Aden Road was turned around, and drivers on Va. 28 were directed around the crash with the help of police officers.

The sound of cracking filled the air as tires rolled over pieces of plastic and shattered glass on left on the road surface in the wake of the crash.

While the Loomis truck sustained heavy front-end damage, the pickup’s rear end was also crushed, and glass from the rear cab window shattered on impact.

The driver of the Loomis truck remained on the scene and was questioned by police.
