The work to replace railroad ties in Manassas Park, and a plan to close a portion of Manassas Drive where it crosses railroad tracks near a Virginia Railway Express station, has been canceled today, city officials report.

MANASSAS PARK, Va. — Drivers who normally travel Manassas Drive in Manassas Park will have to find another way on Friday.
In a press release, city officials just announced they were notified by Norfolk Southern the railroad gates on Manassas Drive at the Virginia Railway Express station will be closed from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday. The closure will permit the railroad to repair damaged railroad ties, the press release states.
City officials told drivers to anticipate longer commute times on Friday and to look for alternate routes.
