Manassas Battalion Chief Lupton Honored

MANASSAS, Va . — Battalion Chief Todd Lupton of the Manassas Fire Department was honored during a City Council meeting on Monday night. Though Lupton has only been a member of the Manassas team for a little over a year, his contributions are felt throughout the community.

“I would really like to thank everyone in the department,” Lupton said during the ceremony. “Receiving such an award is very humbling, but this has really been a group effort.”

Lupton was credited with the drafting of a new billing contract for the city’s emergency services, for finding a doctor to fill the medical director post for Manassas and with the creation of a continuing education training program within Prince William County for area emergency responders.

“Emergency services are such an important part of our community,” said Mayor Harry J. Parrish. “I just want to thank Chief Lupton for his service during the past year.”

Manassas Fire and Rescue is a combination career and volunteer organization. On the career side, there is 60 full-time staff with 55 of them assigned to full-time operations. All report Fire Chief Brett Bowman.
