Man Nabs Cash, Debit Card from Woman after ATM Withdrawal

NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — A woman who went to a WaWa store on Va. 610 in North Stafford was robbed.

The woman went inside the store at 105 Garrisonville Road to use the ATM inside the store at 5:28 p.m. Monday. When she completed her transaction, a man came up from behind and took the cash she had just withdrawn as well as her debit card to Navy Federal Bank.

The man then took off running from the store to the parking lot of a nearby Wingate Inn in the direction of Greenspring Drive, Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy said. ‘

The woman was not injured in the robbery, and police did not say how much cash was taken from the victim.

The man is described as white, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 to 170 pounds, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, a blue or purple undershirt, blue jeans, and black shoes.

Kennedy said there were several witnesses inside the store that were able to provide investigators with information, but added Stafford County Crime Solvers is looking to speak with anyone who may have seen where the man ran off to following the robbery.
