STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — Democrats in Stafford County will party one week prior to the second Inauguration of President Barack Obama.
The Stafford Democratic Committee will host a gala at the Riverside Dinner Theater in Stafford County.
More in a press release:
The Stafford Democratic Committee is hosting an inaugural gala one week before the inaugural balls in Washington DC. The Stafford event has the advantage of being more affordable at $100 per ticket. Scheduled for Saturday night, Jan. 12 at Riverside Center in southern Stafford, the celebration also is easy to get to (near I-95 and U.S. 17) and includes free parking.
“Hail to the Blue” is a Black Tie optional affair with dance music by DJ’s in the ‘Burg. Ticket price includes a plentiful assortment of elegant and substantial hors d’oeuvres. Cash bar will be available.
“Aside from the convenience, another advantage to celebrating locally is that profits from our gala will benefit Democratic candidates running for office this year in Stafford,” said Alane Callander, Stafford’s Democratic Party Chair. The Party is in the process of recruiting candidates, including for three VA House of Delegates districts that serve the region, Districts 2, 28 and 88.
State Sen. Mark Herring of Loudon County, a candidate for the Democratic nomination for VA Attorney General in 2013, has confirmed his attendance at the gala. Other candidates for statewide office are also expected to attend.
Details and reservations are available at www.stafforddemocrats.org or by calling (540) 300-1870. Tickets may be purchased at the door.
