Garrisonville Decides Today

NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — It’s Election Day in the Garrisonville District as voters decide who will represent them on the Stafford Board of County Supervisors.

Polls opened in Stafford’s most suburbanized magisterial district at 6 a.m. and will close at 7 p.m. Voters will chose who will permanently replace Delegate Mark Dudenhefer, R-2, Stafford, Woodbridge, who stepped down as the Garrisonville District Supervisor and Board of Supervisors Chairman in January.

Voters will choose from Republican interim Supervisor Ty Schieber or political newcomer Democrat Jon “Jack” Starkey. Both men say schools and transportation are top priorities in the district.

The John Musante Porter Branch Library, HH Poole Middle School, and Hampton Oaks Elementary School will all serve today as polling places, according to the Stafford County Voter Registrar office.

There are 11,444 registered voters in the Garrisonville District.
