Two road constructions projects in the Potomac Communities could have some drivers searching for an alternative route.
Construction crews will close Occoquan Road in Lake Ridge, between Old Bridge Road and Riverview Lane, from Monday to Saturday nights.
The road closure will allow townhome developer Basheer & Edgemoore to install a storm pipe, water mains, as well as sanitary water mains. The developer is building 76 townhomes in a new neighborhood that has been dubbed Potomac Crest near the intersection of Old Bridge and Occoquan roads, according to Prince William County officials.
Drivers in Dumfries will also note a closure of Mine Road between Van Buren Road and U.S. 1, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The road closure will allow crews to widen a portion of Mine Road, according to Dumfries officials.
Flaggers will be on site directing traffic in the area as those who live in the area will still be allowed to access the road.
