That’s what happened Saturday at the Aquia Terrace apartments in Stafford, when about 10 residents of the complex paid $5 each to rent a table to sell their wares.
To make it more interesting, the apartment complex sold hot dogs and drinks for $1 each and donated the money to charity.
“The people that own the apartment complex, Lincoln Apartments, has a charity fund for needy employees or members of their families. We made $175 and gave all of the money to the charity fund,” said Aquia Terrace Apartments manager Gary Aufftorth.
The residents got to keep the profits from the items they sold, and there were many finds at the yard sale.
Kara Walker took her 6-year-old daughter, Emily, to the sale.
“I can’t believe these roller skate shoes were just five dollars, and they were brand new,” exclaimed Walker.
She also purchased a fish aquarium and few other small items.
