Fire Injures 2

Stafford, Va. –– Two people were injured in a blaze in Stafford on Sunday night.

Flames broke out at a two-story, single family home at 51 Scotland Circle, just off Austin Ridge Drive, at 8:16 p.m.

Two adults and two children were home at the time of the fire but made it out safely. Two of the occupants were treated for injuries that did not appear to be life threatening, said Stafford fire and rescue spokesman Mark Doyle.

Crews advanced attack lines into the house after they learned all occupants of the home made it out safely, found fire in the basement and extinguished it within 15 minutes, said Doyle.

Firefighters encountered heavy smoke throughout the home as they battled flames.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire, said Doyle.
