North Stafford, Va. –– Children in Aquia Harbour got a first-hand lesson in bike safety.
Seven bicycle safety stations were set up in the neighborhood where families and children could have their bikes inspected for safety and learn bike-riding etiquette. T
The event was called the Bike Safety Rodeo, and proved to be a way to bring the community together.
“We were happy to have been able to pull this off this year. Last year we were rained out of both our original date and our rain date. This weekend was perfect for the kids to come out have a little fun and learn the rules of the road,” said Jane Stoll, with the Aquia Evening Lions Club.
Several businesses and agencies participated in the event, such as Aquia Harbour Police, Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, Aquia Harbour Fire and Rescue Squad, Old Towne Bicycles of Fredericksburg, and Kohls Associates in Action to Promote Bike Safety.
