North Stafford, Va. –– One person evacuated their home in Widewater last night after a fire broke out.
Flames broke out a two-story home at 175 Barrett Heights Road at 10:29 p.m. Thursday.
Fire and rescue crews were called, and began battling the blaze after they made sure everyone was out of the house safely, said Stafford County fire and rescue spokesman Mark Doyle.
Fighting the blaze from the inside of the house, Doyle said crews had flames knocked down within 20 minutes.
The cause if the fire is under investigation and damage estimates were not made available.
Three adults live inside the home, but only one was home when flames broke out, said Doyle.
No one was injured and the American Red Cross is assisting the home’s occupants.
