Brooke area poised for growth
It looks like the area near the Brooke Virginia Railway Express station in Stafford is another hot growth area in the county. At the Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday, officials designated the area as an Urban Development Area, one of seven areas where most development in the county will take place over the next 10 to 20 years.
Prince William votes to sue over illegal immigrant records
Prince William County officials last night agreed to sue the Department of Homeland Security in order to obtain the records of more than 3,000 illegal immigrants handed over the federal agency from the county’s police department. The move comes after an illegal immigrant in Manassas was accused in a shooting spree that left three dead and three injured.
Lorton should be the next magisterial district, says newspaper
The Lorton Valley Star says Lorton should become the tenth magisterial district in Fairfax County, noting that much of the growth in the county has occurred in the Lorton area. The newspaper also states growth in the area will continue with the influx of more federal and military jobs at Fort Belvoir later this year when the BRAC military relocation is complete.
