Lake Ridge, Va. –– One man threw a snowball at someone shoveling snow and had his throat cut, police say.
It happened at 4:21 a.m. Thursday in the 3800 block of Core Place in Lake Ridge.
The victim apparently threw a snowball at a man shoveling snow, then the man approached the victim, a fight ensured and the suspect pulled out a box cutter and slit the victim’s throat, said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.
The injured victim went home and police were called. Others at the victim’s house went outside to fight the suspect as police arrived on scene, said Perok.
The victim was flown to a local hospital and is expected to survive.
Tyree Merle Alexander, 40, of 5553 Hobsons Choice Loop in Manassas is charged with aggravated malicious wounding, said Perok.
He is scheduled to appear in court March 7.
