High flying T’s in low budget times

A new line of T-shirts is helping define what it means to be a “recessonista.” It’s also helping a young woman on the path to business ownership.

Sherina Porter plans to move from the west coast “back east” where she’ll work to develop her Zulaa T-shirt line, aimed at the budget-conscious fashion lover.

Using social media and working with top designers from the Nieman Marcus department store, Porter is quickly making name for herself.

Since the recession began in 2008, more and more shoppers have been looking to buy high-style items for less money.
