Sheriff’s deputies found a body near the Chatham Bridge over the Rappahannock River on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.
The victim had been reported missing. The sheriff has not released the victim’s name.
Stafford Sheriff’s office: “At 9:15 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a missing person in the area of Chatham Bridge. The individual was located and pronounced deceased. While no foul play is suspected at this time, detectives are continuing their investigation. Our prayers are with the family.”
