The speed limit is increasing from 55 mph to 60 mph on several sections of Route 3 and Route 301 in King George County.
New 60 mph speed limit signs are posted today on several sections of Route 301, and new signs will be installed on Route 3 on Monday, Sept. 21, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Manassas city residents will get some tax relief for their vehicles.
The City Council voted on Monday night to approve the allocation percentage for personal property tax relief in the City of Manassas for the 2020 tax year.
About 50 people who had hoped to speak to the Prince William Board of County Supervisors were turned away.
The county’s top elected officials held their meeting in a small conference room on Tuesday, September 15. The room was outside of the eight-member board’s regular meeting chambers, and due to coronavirus restrictions, seating inside the conference room was limited to less than 20 people.
Two OmniRide contractors have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, the first of the company’s hundreds of tested contract employees. The cases were reported on August 31.
In light of the test results, OmniRide has taken appropriate actions such as contact tracing and deep cleaning to ensure the safety of its employees, customers, and the general public.
For Manassas, it’s the bypass.
The City Council unanimously voted to support a plan to extend Godwin Drive, creating a four-lane, four-mile Route 28 bypass. Known as “alternative 2B,” the road would connect with Route 28 at Bull Run, on the Fairfax County line.
There will be several changes coming to William Street in Downtown Fredericksburg that will aim to improve travel for both commuters and pedestrians. William Street is already undergoing repaving and is one of many road improvement plans underway in the area.
