Tomorrow, January 6, 2017, U.S. Senator Tim Kaine will make stops in Northern Virginia to discuss his efforts to prevent a repeal of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and strip health care away from tens of millions of Americans. Today, Kaine introduced an amendment to stop Republican efforts to fast-track a repeal and led a group of 13 moderate Democrats in a letter encouraging Republican Congressional leadership to discuss meaningful improvements, citing the bipartisan reforms he and his colleagues have supported in the past.

The Prince William Area Free Clinic (PWAFC) in Woodbridge, Va., was the recipient of a $5,000 grant awarded recently by the Dominion Foundation, the charitable arm of Dominion Resources. Funds will support the organization’s ongoing initiatives to provide free access to health care for uninsured patients.

On Tuesday, January 3rd at 2:30 p.m., fire and rescue crews were dispatched to a structure fire in a two-story single family home located in the 14300 block of Lindendale Road in Dale City.

Baby Kenzi was originally due on Jan 17 and his date was pushed up a couple times. While home on New Years Eve, mom randomly begin to get contractions every 3 mins. Mom was unsure then contacted her mother, her mother told her she needs to go to the hospital. Mom still did not think she was ready, but went anyway. When she got there turns out baby Kenzi was ready, and birthed at 4:42 am on New Years Day. Baby was the first baby born in the 2017 at Sentara Hospital in Woodbridge, Va. Weighing in at 9.47 ounces with a length of 20 inches.
On Sunday, January 1st, at 2:06 a.m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a structure fire in a two-story single family home located in the 13000 block of Kerrydale Road in Woodbridge.
Upon arrival, firefighters observed fire showing from the rear of the home. A request for a second alarm was issued due to reports of people trapped in the structure. As firefighters attacked the fire, the homeowner arrived on scene and confirmed all occupants were safely out of the home except for their pets. During extinguishment, firefighters located and rescued the owner’s three dogs in which one sustained minor injuries.
