Hematology Oncology Associates of Fredericksburg (HOAF), a healthcare organization recognized for providing world-class cancer care in state-of-the-art facilities, is expanding its practice to a second location in Stafford County that will offer the same level of care and treatment for cancer patients across a wider range of the Northern Virginia region.

The 7,048 square-foot cancer care office, located at 125 Woodstream Boulevard in Stafford and scheduled to open on Monday, May 14, will be known as Hematology Oncology Associates of Fredericksburg at Stafford.

WOODBRIDGE — The effort to spend nearly $1 million to dredge a recreational waterway in Woodbridge will move forward.

Prince William County leaders approved $750,000 in contingency funds to dredge the entrance to Neabsco Creek after the U.S. Coast Guard removed the navigational channel markers boaters used to enter the creek. The funds were approved as part of the fiscal year 2019 budget but will be pulled from a pot of money set aside a year ago.

After morning frost across the region this morning, the risk of fire will prevail today as temperatures and wind speeds increase.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect today between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Winds gusting up to 35 mph coupled with low relative humidity will make for favorable fire conditions.

WOODBRIDGE — The proposed Rays Regarde development in Woodbridge would tax an already overenrolled elementary school, according to county documents.

The new housing development that would be located at the end of Horner Road would bring about 160 new students to Woodbridge-area schools when it is built and then more in the following years, according to those same documents. The closest elementary school is the new Kilby Elementary which opened last year, which is already over capacity and cannot handle any new students, documents state.

WOODBRIDGE — The work to replace a water line from Fairfax to Prince William County went off without a hitch.

Prince William County Executive Christopher Martino said the project wrapped up last Friday and resulted in no loss of water for any customers in the eastern portion of the county, despite fears from officials and declaration of a water emergency made ahead of the scheduled work.
