WOODBRIDGE– Prince William County is trying to become a safer, more accessible place for all its residents by adding sidewalks and bicycle trails.

On Tuesday, “The Prince William Board of County Supervisors voted to authorize the submission of the grant applications for the Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Program,” Paolo Belita, regional transportation planner for Prince William County, states in an email.

WOODBRIDGE — Prince William County supervisors on Tuesday unanimously approved a special use permit for Virginia Solar- a  developer based in Henrico County – to begin construction of a solar farm in Nokesville.

Nokesville Solar will be located on 331 acres at what was previously known as Dixon Farm on 13204 Warrenton Road.

WOODBRIDGE – (Press Release) On October 17 at 3:45PM, officers responded to investigate threats made towards police involving an individual residing in the 2900 block of Williamsburg Ct in Woodbridge (22191). The investigation revealed that a man, later identified as the accused, call the Prince William County Public Safety Communications Center to inquire about a family vehicle that was towed. During the conversation with the call taker, the accused made threats to harm the police officer who towed the vehicle, as well as, threats to burn the vehicle at the tow lot where it was being stored. Officers were able to identify the accused who was located at his residence in the above area and detained without incident. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Richard Benard DENNEY, was arrested.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY – (Press Release)  On October 16 at 9:06PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 1700 block of Ann Scarlet Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 50-year-old woman, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in the verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim by the neck before pulling out a knife and holding against her throat. When the victim attempted to scream for help, the accused covered her mouth. The accused then struck the victim numerous times before leaving the residence. The victim sustained injuries to her face. The accused was located and detained during an unrelated vehicle stop in the area of Blackburn Rd and Rippon Blvd. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Kevin Lee HALL, was arrested.

WOODBRIDGE — A public hearing on a proposal to add 325 new homes in Woodbridge is delayed thanks to a judge’s decision on an unrelated case.

The Prince William County Board of Supervisors sent a proposal for a new “Ray’s Regarde” subdivision to be located at the end of Horner Road adjacent to Prince William Parkway back to the Planning Commission.
