PRINCE WILIAM COUNTY — The Prince William County Service Authority conducted their third annual Water Academy program this summer.

The free five-week session, which ended on July 24, educated attendees on the utility’s water and wastewater infrastructure, wastewater treatment, and its role in protecting the environment.


WOODBRIDGE — A fire truck is out of service today after it caught fire.

Fire and rescue crews at the River Oaks Station — Fire Station 23 in Woodbridge smelled smoke inside one of the fire engines Sunday night. A small fire was located inside of the engine, so crews moved the engine outside of apparatus bay at the station and extinguished the fire.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — The Southbridge Seals found another victory in the Prince William Swim League’s Green Division on July 13, putting them at three wins and two losses so far for the season.

The Seals defeated the Old Bridge Breakers 2625.5 to 2332.5 in a partial rematch of last year’s Black Division finals.

WOODBRIDGE — The days are numbered for beavers that have made their homes in the Lake Terrapin neighborhood.

Prince William County officials on Monday began inspecting one of its stormwater retention ponds (one of the hundreds it manages) at the residential neighborhood at the intersection of Lake Terrapin Drive and Spriggs Road near Woodbridge.
