WOODBRIDGE — Senator Scott Surovell and Delegate Jennifer Carroll Foy will host a forum with Virginia Health and Human Services Secretary Daniel Carey to discuss firearms.
The forum will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, July 1 at the Chinn Park Regional Library located at 13065 Chinn Park Dr. in Woodbridge.

Homicide Investigation *VICTIMS IDENTIFIED – On June 23, detectives identified the deceased bodies that were found in the wood line near the area of Featherstone Rd. and Blackburn Rd. in Woodbridge the previous morning. Detectives with the Homicide Unit have confirmed the identity of the deceased as Jairo MAYORGA, 39, and Milton LOPEZ, 40, both of Woodbridge. The deceased were known to frequent the businesses in the area. More information about this investigation will be released when available. The investigation continues.Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Prince William County Police.

WOODBRIDGE — Apparently, people liked riding to work on a double-decker bus.
In April, OmniRide temporarily added a double-decker bus to its fleet and conducted an eight-day test run on several different routes, including a route from Gainesville to Washington D.C.
Two bodies were found today in a wooded area in Woodbridge.

This fall, the new John D. Jenkins Elementary School will open, located near the busy intersection of the parkway and Hillendale Drive, where a Sheetz gas station sits.

WOODBRIDGE — Democratic voters retired Woodbridge District Supervisor Frank Principi.
On Tuesday, political newcomer Margaret Franklin beat Principi in a Primary Election in eastern Prince William County where Principi, since winning a seat on the Board of County Supervisors in 2007, had referred to as “New Woodbridge.”
WOODBRIDGE — (Press Release) A large group gathered on Saturday, National Trails Day, for the long-awaited opening of the Neabsco Creek Boardwalk. The boardwalk — which is three quarters of a mile long, 10-feet-wide, and elevated with a two-story observation deck — is part of the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail and the newly formed Neabsco Regional Park. The new park includes the Julie J. Metz Wetlands, the Rippon Lodge historic property and the Rippon Landing Neighborhood Park.
Woodbridge District Supervisor Frank Principi spoke at the ceremony saying that he worked to bring the boardwalk to the Woodbridge District since 2008, when a small group of residents suggested the idea. It was worth the wait, however. “Good things come to those who wait. A decade later, we stand here today and celebrate the opening of … the Potomac National Heritage Scenic Trail, Neabsco Creek Boardwalk and Neabsco Regional Park.”

WOODBRIDGE – (Press Release) Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center will expand its services to patients and their families with the introduction of the Sentara Cancer Network Resource Center.
The team, surrounded by cancer survivors, celebrated the opening of the Sentara Cancer Network Resource Center with a ribbon cutting and cancer survivor celebration on Thursday, June 6, 2019, which culminated in a butterfly release.

WOODBRIDGE — The Neabsco Creek channel is open for business once again following the completion of a $1 million effort to dredge the waterway.
Navigational beacons once again greet boaters at the mouth of the Neabsco Creek, where it meets the Potomac River at Leesylvania State Park.
