In Prince William, the tax man comes Oct. 5

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — (Press Release) The Prince William County Department of Finance wants to remind residents that personal property taxes are due on or before Friday, October 5, 2018.

There are several convenient ways to pay your bill. If you choose to pay by check, payments should be mailed in the remittance envelope included with your tax bill. Checks for payment of taxes should be made payable to “Prince William County.” Payments by mail must be postmarked no later than October 5, 2018, to avoid a late payment penalty and interest charges.

Prince William County Public Works needs volunteers on Saturday October 6^th at 8am for a clean-up event at the Neabsco Creek Wetlands. OCCOQUAN— Bann Thai Old Town opened its doors on September 9 in the Occoquan. This new Thai restaurant offers dine-in, carry-out, catering, and delivery for a five-mile radius from the restaurant.

This is owner Nalinrat Pienthumdee’s first restaurant. She partnered with a very experienced chef to bring authentic Thai food to Northern Virginia. Chef Tang has over ten years of experience as a chef.

UMW poll shows Kaine ahead of Stewart, but race ‘likely to tighten up as the contest draws nearer’

FREDERICKSBURG — (Press Release) Sen. Tim Kaine holds double-digit leads over Republican nominee Corey Stewart among both registered and likely voters, according to a new University of Mary Washington statewide survey.

The survey, conducted September 4-9 for UMW by the national research firm SSRS, found that Kaine had a 51 percent to 33 percent margin among registered voters and a 52 percent to 36 percent margin among likely voters. Libertarian candidate Matt Waters received 5 percent support in both subsets of Virginians.
