Blaze is a spunky gal that has won the hearts of everyone at the shelter. She was found wandering a nearby road with a broken leg, and required an expensive surgery to walk normally again. Now one of her favorite things to do is run! She is a goofy, high energy beagle that would love to find a family that would enjoy being active with her. Blaze is 2 years old, spayed, UTD on all vaccines, and microchipped.
The Dumfries Fall Festival could be moved to the town’s only school.
The annual festival will start at 11 a.m. October 17. Organizers propose moving the festival from its usual location at Garrison Park behind Town Hall to nearby Dumfries Elementary School on Cameron Street.

You need close-toed shoes and sharp eyes but they will provide all tools, water, supplies and lunch. You don’t want to miss this great event. Stafford High School will delay its opening by two weeks. The school was unable obtain a permit to open its doors for the first time.

A Manassas teen was sentenced to 11 years in jail today, after assisting the Islamic State in Iraq (ISIS).
Ali Shukri Amin, the 17-year old Manassas boy, was sentenced after being convicted of conspiring to provide support and resources to ISIS, according to a U.S. Justice Department release.
According to the Virginia Department of Emergency Management, Tropical Storm Erika may become a hurricane by Monday, and has the potential to hit Virginia.
The storm is currently approaching the Dominican Republic, and is still impacting the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, stated the National Weather Service.
