WOODBRIDGE — The Woodbridge Campus of Northern Virginia Community College is now closed through Sunday, Jan. 28.
All classes and activities at the campus are canceled.
It was one of the first Lidl stores to come out of the ground in our area. And now it is set to open after its sister stores in Manassas, south Stafford, and Lake Ridge where construction began before the latter locations.

RICHMOND – In 2015, Lee J. Carter, an information technology specialist from Manassas, was shocked by 245 volts during a work assignment in Peoria, Illinois, when an electrician had incorrectly wired a panel.
He wound up injuring his back; for the next three months, he could not walk more than 50 feet at a time. Yet Virginia rejected Carter’s claim for workers’ compensation, and his employer cut his hours after he got better. That ordeal inspired Carter to run for the Virginia House of Delegates.
FREDERICKSBURG — We’ve learned a link between Stafford County and Fredericksburg could be closed for up to 19 months as crews work to fix a structurally deficient bridge.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — Public safety officials spread are thin dealing with people with mental health issues.
On average, a Prince William County police officer, when called, spends about 10 and a half hours working with a person with mental issues. That’s more time than what’s available in a regular eight-hour shift.
