WOODBRIDGE — Prince William County Board of Supervisors Chairman At-large Corey Stewart says its time make a decision about the future of the county’s rural area.

“We’re talking about the future of our county here,” he said. “If we do nothing, we’re going to see the rural area carved up into 10-acre lots, all with homes on them.”

From Prince William police: 

Impersonating a Law Enforcement Officer – On March 19 at 10:00PM, officers began to investigate an incident that occurred at DTR Towing located at 10462 Colonel Ct in the City of Manassas (20110) on March 16 where an individual falsely represented himself as a Prince William Police officer. The investigation revealed that a female was attempting to recover a vehicle that had been towed and placed in the above tow lot. During the encounter, the accused, a family member of the female, called the tow company stating that he was a lieutenant with the Prince William Police Department then demanded that the vehicle be released to his family member. At some point during the incident, the female became disorderly and the Manassas City Police initially responded. Following the investigation, Prince William Police officers obtained an arrest warrant for the accused, identified as Patrick Thomas DUNN, who was arrested without incident on March 25.

Strong-Armed Robbery – On March 20 at 10:30PM, officers responded to the AMF Bowling located at 4301 Dale Blvd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 25-year-old man, reported to police that he was in the men’s restroom when he was approached by several acquaintances who demanded money from him. When the victim refused, the victim was assaulted and a pack of cigarettes was taken from him. The parties separated and the suspects left the area.

During the investigation, officers located three of the acquaintances, identified as Jordan Antione Everette HAYDEN, Joshua Andre DIAZ, and Skyler Nicole COMPTON, a short time later at another business in the area and arrested them without incident.  Officers have obtained arrest warrants for three additional suspects, identified as Steven Antonio FOY, Ana Stephanie ROSATO, and Jocelyn Verenice VENTURA-LEIVA. Attempts to locate the remaining three outstanding wanted suspects have been unsuccessful. The investigation continues.

WOODBRIDGE — Sentara officials won approval from the Health Systems Board of Northern Virginia for a PET/CT scanner at its Northern Virginia Medical center in Woodbridge.

The proposal now heads from the Northern Virginia Regional Commission to Richmond for a hearing in front of the state’s health commissioner on May 22.

MANASSAS — City officials are set to release $2.2 million bond monies to fund the design of the new public safety center on Grant Avenue. 

Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum, PC, (HOK) was chosen as the architects of the new building. The firm recently completed buildings in Fairfax County like the county’s public safety headquarters; the Fairfax County McConnell Public Safety Transportation & Operations Center.
