WOODBRIDGE — The effort to build 325 new homes at the dead end of Horner Road won approval from the Prince William County Planning Commission.

The development called Ray’s Regarde now needs approval from the county’s Board of Supervisors, which would vote to rezone 55 acres of land from agricultural and suburban land to mixed use. That would clear the way for 300 235 new homes — 175 townhomes and 125 stacked condos, called two-over-two units.

MANASSAS — The Royal Air Force turns 100 years old this year, and the celebration in the U.S. begins in our area this weekend.

Multiple planes used by Great Britain’s Royal Air Force in WWI and II will fly into the Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum in Chantilly on Sunday. The event is dubbed the “Great British Fly-In: Celebrating 100 Years of the Royal Air Force.”

STAFFORD — Stafford County leaders will take a tour of the region to get new ideas on how to build a walkable downtown.

Officials will leave the county’s government center on Tuesday for a tour of small towns around the Washington, D.C. region on Tuesday, April 10. They’ll be looking at walkable space, streets, and the layout of vehicle parking.

A Manassas man pleaded guilty today to using the Internet to pay women to sexually abuse children as young as six years old in the Philippines while he produced numerous images of the abuse.
