Police now say it was a domestic dispute the led to the death of a Falls Church woman Wednesday night in a Springfield restaurant.

Witnesses called police to report someone had opened fire at Fortuna Center Plaza, in front of the Shoppers Food Warehouse at 4:33 p.m., said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.
No one was injured, but a preliminary investigation found that two men had been driving around the parking lot of the shopping plaza when one jumped out of the car, and then fired the gun. (more…)

ABC 7 News reports a 21-year-old woman had just walked inside of her home in the 3000 block of Fox Lair Drive in Woodbridge, about 3:10 a.m. Sept. 22, when a man forced his way in behind her and sexually assaulted her.
That man got away, and is said to have been 6 feet 2 inches tall with a heavy build.

Woodbridge, Va. –– The man charged in the 2008 murder of a fast food manager pleaded guilty this morning.
According to News & Messenger, Daniel Lipscomb, 28, pleaded gulty of abduction this morning in Prince William County court, and the judge accepted. That clears the way for him to be sentenced to five years in prison.

Kenneth Michael Hostetter, 66, was found behind a closed restaurant in the Triangle Shopping Plaza on Wednesday.
Investigators told News & Messenger they do not suspect foul play, and that the body was so badly decomposed police had to bring in a forensic anthropologist to identify the remains.
Prince William County Police did not return a request for comment on this story, but News & Messenger reports the body was found behind the old True Grit restaurant in the Triangle Shopping Plaza.
A specialist was called into help identify the badly decomposed body, and police say the death does not appear to be suspicious, according to News & Messenger.
North Stafford, Va, –– It was an armed robbery at a Sunoco gas station in North Stafford that sent K9 units searching a neighborhood and a nearby shopping plaza as others looked on.
The Stafford sheriff’s office on Thursday released the details of an armed robbery that happened at the gas station, at 488 Garrisonville Road (Va. 610), about 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
Fairfax County, Va. –– A Woodbridge man has been charged in connection to a robbery at a Springfield shopping plaza.
On Sunday, a 28-year-old man flagged down a police officer and told him that a man slapped him and then demanded that he hand over all of his cash, said Fairfax police spokesman Richard Henry.
The robbery happened about 8 p.m., in the 500 block of Lakewood Drive in North Stafford, near Stafford Marketplace on Va. 610.
The driver, who was working for Dominos Pizza, went to the address to deliver a lot of pizza, sub sandwiches and wings.

Quantico, Va. –– Officials at Quantico are cracking down on the use of a substance that when smoked mimics the affects of marijuana.
Base commanders call the drugs “Spice,” or K2,” which contain synthetic compounds that mirror THC – the psychotropic agent found in pot.
