DUMFRIES, Va. — Police say an arranged meeting between a man and a woman at a Dumfries hotel room led to an armed robbery.

The 23-year-old female victim in the case told police she arranged to meet a man she didn’t know at a Comfort Inn on Old Stage Coach Road. Police were called there at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday.

DALE CITY, Va. — A police detective was hit by a car after witnessing a drug deal in Dale City, police said.

It happened at a 7-Eleven store at 7001 Dale Boulevard,near Hoadly Road, on Friday. Detectives from Prince William police’s Street Crimes Unit witnesses a drug transaction in the parking lot pf o o f the store between the driver of a car and another person. When the detective approached the car, the driver put the car into reverse and backed it up, then stopped, said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.

After reviewing security footage at the CVS Pharmacy robbed at gunpoint this morning, police say the suspect’s vehicle appears to be a late model Chevrolet Camaro, not a Ford Mustang as first suspected.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — There’s been another report of a man exposing himself in Woodbridge.

Police arrested a man they said pulled his car behind a 19-year-old woman from Manassas who was walking in Dillingham Square Shopping Center in Lake Ridge, followed her, pulled alongside her, began talking to her, and then exposed himself to her while making lewd gestures. The victim screamed and the man fled the area.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Police are looking for a man suspected of exposing himself outside a Noodles and Co. restaurant in Woodbridge on Thursday.

Warrants were obtained for 57-year-old David Lynn Scriven , of no fixed address, after someone inside the restaurant called 911 and said a man exposed himself to a group of women sitting a table across from him. The man left the scene before police arrived, said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A teenager suspected of robbing a currency exchange store at Potomac Mills mall on Thursday is behind bars.

Police said they obtained a warrant and searched the home of a 17-year-old boy from Woodbridge following the robbery inside the popular shopping mall. Police said the suspect walked up to the Currency Exchange International kiosk just before 11 a.m., passed a note demanding cash, and then fled the scene. No injuries were reported.

MANASSAS, Va. — Richard D. Sword appeared in the Manassas Courthouse yet again in the ongoing saga of the Sword trial. Richard Sword and his brother Gerry were arrested on murder charges in late 2012 for the death of 44-year-old Anthony Bailey of Manassas.

In February, the charge was reduced to tampering, transporting, secreting, concealing or altering a dead body after the medical examiner’s report showed that Bailey died from a mixture of ethanol, Paroxetine (an anti-depressant), and Benedryl.
