STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. -- A homeowner chased out two intruders this morning at his home near Curtis Park.
The intruders used a basemen door to break into the home on Suntee Drive in the Hartwood section of Stafford County just before 2 a.m. Thursday.
A Stafford sheriff’s deputy called to the scene spoke with the homeowner who said that he was lying in his bed when he heard a noise, then got up to investigate, and then saw two men running down the staircase inside his home back into the basement, said sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. -- Investigators are looking for a man who robbed parishioners at two churches in Stafford County.
The first robbery took place during the daytime hours of Thursday, Jan. 9 at the Mount Ararat Baptist Church when a parishioner told Stafford sheriff’s deputies his wallet was missing. The victim reported seeing a man come into the church on Garrisonville Road and then leave in a brown vehicle.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. -- Police in Prince William County have made an arrest near Dumfries and have placed additional charges on man suspected in a child pornography sting.

Child Pornography Investigation *ADDITIONAL CHARGES – On January 10th, members of the Northern Virginia-DC Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force obtained additional warrants in regard to the ongoing investigation into child pornography involving the accused. During a forensics examination of a phone belonging to the accused, a total of 25 images of child pornography were recovered. Following the investigation, the additional warrants were served on the accused at the Adult Detention Center.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. -- An argument between two men left one of them with a gunshot wound in the leg just hours into New Year’s Day. Now police are searching for the suspected shooter.

Aggravated Malicious Wounding | Shooting – On January 1st at 2:14AM, officers responded to the 10100 block of Shiloh Ct in Manassas (20109) to investigate a shooting. Officers arrived in the area and located the victim, a 31 year old man of Manassas, on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The investigation revealed that the victim and a known male acquaintance were involved in a verbal altercation inside a home in the above area. The argument proceeded outside of the residence and escalated. During the encounter, the accused retrieved a shotgun and shot the victim in the leg. Following the shooting, the suspect left the area. A witness reported to police that the suspect was last seen getting into a 4-door, silver Honda and fleeing the area. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants against the accused. Attempts to locate the suspect have been unsuccessful. This incident was not random.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. -- Someone drove onto a sidewalk along U.S. 1 near Dumfries and struck a pedestrian.

Felony Hit & Run – On January 1st at 6:37PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of River Heritage Dr and Jefferson Davis Hwy in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a hit & run. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 10 year old girl, was walking with her family on the sidewalk adjacent to River Heritage Blvd when the driver of a pick-up truck left the roadway, drove up onto the sidewalk, and struck her. After striking the victim, the driver continued, leaving the roadway a second time at the corner of Jefferson Davis Hwy and River Heritage Blvd. The vehicle was last seen driving north on Jefferson Davis Hwy. The victim was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. No description of the driver was provided to investigators.

DUMFRIES, Va. -- A passenger riding inside a car stopped during a DUI traffic stop now faces charges of assaulting a police officer.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On January 1st at 6:10AM, officers responded to the area of Myrtlewood Dr and Avenel Ln in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a crash. During the investigation, officer arrested the driver of one of the vehicles for driving under the influence. After the driver was arrested, a passenger of the same vehicle, attempted to get to the driver who was in the backseat of a police cruiser.

MANASSAS, Va. -- Police are searching for a man suspected  of being involved in a hit-and-run pursuit.
The unidentified suspect while behind the wheel of a vehicle struck another vehicle in the area of Breeden and Mathis avenues in Manassas on Wednesday night. Officers followed the suspect who later pulled his car into a gas station at the intersection of Sudley Road and Godwin Drive and then fled on foot.
Investigators believe they know who the suspect is and plan to release his name and pertinent information on Friday, said Manassas police spokeswoman Adrienne Helms. Warrants have been issued for his arrest, she added.

Aggravated Assault
At approximately 1:30PM on December 22, 2013 Manassas City Police responded to “Don Julio Restaurant” located at 9007 Centreville Rd for a report of an assault. According to the victim, he was sitting at the bar inside the restaurant when a male subject approached him and brandished a firearm. Two more male subjects then struck him from behind and a fight ensued. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
