On January 14, 2017 at approximately 6:30 p.m. Sergeant D.R. Colona responded to a disturbance in the area of the Walmart at 217 Garrisonville Road. The reporting party stated a female friend was hiding in the woman’s dressing room in an attempt to elude a man who was “stalking” her. The caller contacted the Sheriff’s Office after receiving a Facebook message from her friend and further advised the man was driving a gold van.

Larceny – Arrest
At approximately 1:50 p.m. on Jan. 16, 2017, Manassas City Police responded to Pink House Antiques & Collectables, located at 9201 Prescott Ave, in reference to a shoplifting that had just occurred. A store employee told officers that an adult male subject entered the store and inquired about some jewelry. When the employee stepped away from the jewelry counter to tend to another customer, the suspect allegedly took several pieces of jewelry, valued together at $13,000, and fled the store. Using the description provided, officers located the suspect, Walter E. JENKINS, 37, of 7809 Pine St, Manassas, Va. 20111 on the 9000 block of Centreville Rd and placed him into custody without incident. JENKINS was charged with Grand Larceny, held without bond, and has a pending court date of Jan. 31, 2017. [Photo unavailable]

Strangulation | Domestic Assault & Battery – On January 15 at 10:43AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 1700 block of Shady River Ct in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 24-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim by the throat and threw her against a wall. The parties eventually separated and the victim contacted police. The accused fled the area prior to officers arriving. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was located and arrested a short time later without incident.

Armed Robbery – On January 13 at 5:55PM, officers responded to the Boost Mobile store located at 7581 Centreville Rd in Manassas (20111) to investigate a robbery. Employees reported to police that an unknown, masked man entered the business and demanded money. The suspect brandished a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the business on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect who was not located.

Armed Robbery | Felony Hit & Run – On January 15 at 4:06PM, officers responded to the area of Lindendale Rd and Leesburg Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 15-year-old male juvenile of Woodbridge, reported to police that he and another male juvenile were walking in the above area when they were approached by four males in a white Mercedes sedan.

Homicide Investigation *VICTIM IDENTIFIED – The body of an adult male which was discovered along the Potomac River in the 1500 block of Cherry Hill Rd in Dumfries on January 12 has been positively identified as Christian Alexander SOSA RIVAS, 21, of Fairfax. Homicide Investigation *UPDATE – On January 13, the body discovered along the Potomac River in the 1500 block of Cherry Hill Rd in Dumfries underwent an autopsy at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Manassas. Based upon further examination of the victim’s body and the police investigation, detectives from the Homicide Unit are now classifying this death as a homicide. The victim was found on January 12 and appeared to have suffered trauma to his body. Preliminarily, the victim has been identified as an adult male. The victim’s identification will be released once a next of kin has been notified. The investigation continues. This is Prince William County’s first homicide of 2017.
