From Manassas police: 

Shots Fired At approximately 10 p.m. on Jan. 11, 2017, Manassas City Police responded to the area of Bruton Parish Ct. for a report of shots fired. Officers and Detectives from the Northern Virginia Regional Gang Task Force located and secured the scene and interviewed residents, who confirmed having witnessed several gunshots on the 8600 block of Bruton Parish Ct moments prior. Several vehicles and the maintenance portion of one apartment building sustained minor damages. No victims or injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

From Prince William police: 

Threat to Bomb  The investigation revealed that an unknown male caller reported that there was a bomb in the courthouse. After a search of the property and surrounding area with the assistance of two police K-9 units, officers determined that the threat was not credible. During the investigation, detectives from the Intel Unit identified the caller as the accused and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

From Prince William police: 

Suspicious Death – On January 12 at 12:40PM, officers responded to the 1500 block of Cherry Hill Rd in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a death. The caller reported to police that while walking in the above area, a man’s body was observed along the shoreline of the Potomac River. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives from the Homicide Unit are investigating the death as suspicious. The body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for further examination and autopsy. The victim’s identification will be released once confirmed and a next of kin has been notified. The investigation continues.

From police: 

Double Murder Investigation *ARREST – On January 3, 2017, the Grand Jury for Prince William County returned multiple indictments against a suspect, identified as Noe Antonio NOLASCO AMAYA, in connection to the murders of Willian Alexander Molina-Rivas, 36, and Jose Javier Avalos, 17, which occurred at a residence in the 10300 block of Lomond Dr in Manassas on July 31, 2016. Investigators from the Prince William County Fire Marshal’s Office previously charged the same man with arson in August of 2016 for allegedly causing the fire inside the home resulting in the deaths of both victims and four dogs. The suspect was served the additional charges on January 4, 2017 and remains incarcerated at the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center. This incident was jointly investigated by the Prince William County Police Homicide Unit and Fire Marshal’s Office with the assistance of the B.A.T.F. Arson and Explosives Unit.

Virginia State Police are searching for a suspect who bailed out of a car in the area of Interstate 95 and Route 234, near Dumfries. 

We’re told there is a heavy police presence in the area, and that police helicopters were called into the assist in the search.
