Virginia State Police are searching for a suspect who bailed out of a car in the area of Interstate 95 and Route 234, near Dumfries. 

We’re told there is a heavy police presence in the area, and that police helicopters were called into the assist in the search.

At approximately 7:45 p.m. on Jan. 3, 2017, a male subject entered 7-Eleven, located at 9112 Mathis Ave, and demanded money from the clerk while pointing a knife at her. The clerk complied and the suspect exited the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. The ). The suspect is described as a white male, mid- 40s-50s, and approximately 6’ tall with a thin build.

*INCIDENT: Shooting | Manassas;
Officers are investigating a shooting which occurred in the 8800 block of Rixlew Lane. One victim is suffering from a gunshot wound and is being flown to a medical facility. Nearby schools have been advised as a precaution. The investigation is continuing. More information will be released when available.

Malicious Wounding | Shooting InvestigationOn January 1 at 1:50AM, officers responded to investigate a shooting which occurred in the 15400 block of Wheatfield Dr in Dumfries (22025) earlier that evening. The investigation revealed that the accused was in the above area when he was involved in a verbal altercation with several subjects in a vehicle. During the encounter, the accused brandished a handgun and shot into the vehicle striking one of the occupants, a 19-year-old man of Woodbridge, in the upper body. The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries. Following the investigation, detectives with the Violent Crimes Bureau obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused. The accused was located and arrested without incident at his residence later that day.

*MISSING ENDANGERED ADULT – UPDATE #2: The Prince William County Police Department continues to ask for the public’s assistance in locating Alan Cohee, who was reported as missing and endangered by a family member on November 11. Since Mr. Cohee’s disappearance, the Prince William County Police Department, with assistance from other local and state agencies, have conducted multiple searches of the immediate area surrounding his home. On December 29, Prince William County officers, with helicopter and K-9 assistance, conducted another search around Mr. Cohee’s residence on Featherstone Rd in Woodbridge and the immediate area. Nothing of note was located. There has still been no known contact with Mr. Cohee since he was last seen on November 10. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mr. Cohee is asked to call the non-emergency line at 703-792-6500.
