STAFFORD — The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about people who pose as members of law enforcement, reputable businesses leaders, or other entities in an attempt to steal money by asking victims for payment in the form of gift cards.

In one case, a Stafford resident reported receiving a call from an individual claiming to be from the DEA. The individual told the victim that her social security number had been linked to a drug trafficking incident in Texas and that she needed to put money into a “safe card” to protect herself, according to a sheriff’s office spokeswoman.


DALE CITY — Police say they have one of two suspects in the robbery of in Dale City.

On April 9, detectives with the Prince William police Robbery Unit continued to look into an armed robbery that occurred in the 13100 block of Hillendale Drive in Dale City on February 22 after they got new a new lead on one of the suspects.


DALE CITY — On April 9, detectives from the Prince William County Police Department Special Victims Unit concluded an investigation into a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence in Dale City on March 31.

An investigation revealed the victim, a 28-year-old woman, was sexually assaulted by the accused, a family member, on that date.


WOODBRIDGE — On April 6 at 2:25 p.m., officers responded to the 13400 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge to investigate an abduction.

The police were contacted and responded to the scene. Patrol officers circulating the area recovered the vehicle and the child within a short time. The child was not injured during the encounter.

STAFFORD — A woman who last week was allegedly found naked in a daycare and then arrested is also now charged in a separate incident that occurred inside a gas station bathroom.

A woman was arrested on Friday by deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office after assaulting a man while in a bathroom stall at Wawa.


NOKESVILLE — (Press release) At approximately 6:26 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Aden Road and Misty Creek Court in Nokesville for a traffic violation.

During the investigation, the driver fled on foot, and it was determined the suspect had a warrant. With the assistance of a police K9 and a Fairfax helicopter, the suspect was taken into custody without incident in the 14400 block of Fleetwood Drive, at approximately 7:37 pm.

STAFFORD — (Press release) A woman was taken into custody early Thursday morning by units with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office after she broke into a daycare and was found not wearing any clothes.

On April 4, 2019, at approximately 5:22 a.m., Sgt. Aubry responded to a reported breaking and entering at the Kids on the Move Learning Center located at 628 Cambridge Street. Upon arrival, he found a woman dressed in black standing inside the building with a fork in each hand. After she was taken into custody, the suspect told the sergeant that he was making a mistake and that she was the daycare owner’s wife.

MANASSAS — (Press release) Investigators identified additional suspects in the shooting incident which occurred on March 15, 2019, on the 9600 block of Grant Ave. Grorethas MCKINNON Jr. was arrested without incident on March 28, 2019, in connection to the case.

MCKINNON was charged with malicious wounding and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony. MCKINNON is currently being held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 23, 2019.

WOODBRIDGE – (Press Release) A Woodbridge man has been cited for reckless driving and defective brakes following a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 495 in Fairfax County.

At 1:52 p.m. Thursday (March 28), Virginia State Police Trooper J.S. Corvin responded to a crash involving an overturned tanker truck. The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of I-495 at the 42 mile marker just south of the American Legion Bridge.


PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY – (Press Release) On March 23 at 5:40 p.m., officers responded to the Macy’s within Manassas Mall located at 8270 Sudley Rd. in Manassas to investigate an armed robbery.

A store employee reported to police that three juvenile males entered the store and selected merchandise from the racks. Two of the males entered the dressing room area with the merchandise and, when they exited the dressing room, the merchandise had been concealed. The three males then attempted to exit the store where another employee encountered them. One suspect made verbal threats while brandishing a knife at the employee. The three suspects fled the scene on foot.
