A Lorton man is in custody after a woman escaped from a Dumfries motel and told police she was abducted and strangled.
Strangulation | Abduction *ARREST – On February 9, the suspect sought in connection to the assault that was reported to have occurred at the Motel 6 located at 17133 Dumfries Rd. in Dumfries (22026) on February 1, was arrested. The suspect, Jeremy Dewayne NICKENS, was located and taken into custody by members of the Fairfax County Police Department.
Shooting Investigation – On February 8 at 1:26PM, officers responded to the area of Woodfern Ct. and Chablis Cl. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a shots fired call. Upon arrival, officers located a 25-year- old man suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers rendered aid to the man until rescue personnel arrived. The man was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was not initially cooperative with officers in the investigation. Officers continue to seek assistance from any witness to the incident. The investigation continues.
Residential Burglary – On February 8 at 11:14PM, officers responded to the Rolling Brook Apartments located in the 12700 block of Ripple Creek Ct. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. A resident of an apartment reported to police that the burglary occurred sometime between 1:00PM and 10:00PM. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the apartment through the rear door which was found damaged. A purse and an undisclosed amount of money were reported missing.
DRUGS
300 block of Garrisonville Road, 2/4, 12:36 a.m. Deputy J.J. Yenchak stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The deputy identified the driver as Abdul Kargbo Jr., 18, of Woodbridge. Upon a search of the vehicle, a controlled substance was located. Kargbo was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and released on a $2,500 unsecured bond. A passenger in the vehicle was discovered to be wanted out of Prince William County and was taken into custody.
Shooting into a Residential Dwelling – On February 4 at 12:38PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 2900 block of Stockholm Way in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a destruction of property. The homeowner reported to police that a bullet entered the home sometime between December 1, 2020 and February 3, 2021. The investigation revealed the round entered the home through a side wall of the attic area. No injuries or additional property damage were reported.
Deputies responded for a report of an assault.
Attempted Commercial Burglary | Residential Burglary *ARREST – On January 19, 2021, the suspect sought in connection to the burglaries that were reported have occurred on February 23, 2020 at the Halal Food Market located at 1420 Old Bridge Rd. in Woodbridge (221912) and on March 3, 2020 at the residence located in the 13600 block of Greenwood Dr in Woodbridge (22193), was arrested.
While investigating, officers identified the suspect as Delonte Je Von TAYLOR, and determined he was connected to both burglaries. Following the investigation, on April 27, 2020 officers obtained arrest warrants for both cases. Initial attempts to locate the suspect were unsuccessful. On January 19, TAYLOR was located in Woodbridge and arrested.
On February 2, 2021, at 4:30 a.m. officers of the Manassas CityvPolice Department responded to 10441 Nokesville Road (Wi-Not-Stop), for a report of a past burglary.
Deputy J.F. Edwards responded for a report of a brandishing.
Police were called to the scene of an armed Robbery at Potomac Mills mall, on Saturday, January 29 at 1:15 p.m. Officers were called to a Helzberg Diamonds store at 2700 Potomac Mills Circle in Woodbridge.
