Shots fired during string of carjackings at apartment complex 

From the Prince William police department: On October 2 at 3:51AM, officers responded to investigate a shooting that was reported to have occurred in the area of Summerland Dr. and Gardenview Lp. in Woodbridge (22191) earlier that morning.

[Police update, Friday, October 1, 2021] On September 30 at 6:27PM, officers responded to the area of Heth Ct. and Old Triangle Rd. in Dumfries (22026) to assist Dumfries Police Department with a shots fired call. The investigation revealed that a man approached the parking lot of the above area and engaged in a verbal altercation with another man who was on the other side of the parking lot.

After a brief encounter, both men brandished a firearm and exchanged gunfire before fleeing on foot. Shortly after, a community member flagged down a Dumfries town police officer. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspects who were no located. No injuries were reported. While canvassing, officers located multiple houses and vehicles that sustained damage consistent with being struck by projectiles.

High-speed chase ends at motel 

From the Stafford sheriff’s office: At 1:30 p.m., Sergeant Kreider initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for improper registration on Spring Valley Drive. The vehicle initially stopped in the 300 block of Cambridge Street in Falmouth. The driver was irate and Sergeant Kreider recognized the driver as a wanted subject. Sergeant Kreider told the driver to turn the vehicle off, but instead the driver accelerated on Cambridge Street initiating a pursuit at a high-rate of speed. The driver then turned into the nearby Newton Motel where he fled the vehicle on foot. Sergeant Assur caught-up to the pursuit and aided in taking the suspect into custody. The suspect is identified as Kenneth Arnold, 47. Arnold is wanted in Spotsylvania, Warren, and Stafford Counties. He is also being charged with eluding, obstruction of justice, and driving on a suspended license.

Man, 22 found dead inside car

From the Stafford sheriff’s office: At 10:18 p.m. Thursday, September 23, deputies responded to the 3400 block of Jefferson Davis Highway near Acadia Street for a fatal automobile accident. Relatives of the 22-year-old male victim located him deceased in the damaged vehicle on the shoulder of the road. The victim’s vehicle is a grey Hyundai coupe. The accident is believed to have occurred around 6:00 a.m. on September 23 and went undiscovered until last night. Anyone with information on this accident or may have witnessed this vehicle being operated in the area is asked to contact Deputy R.A. Weatherholtz at 540-658-4682.

Cops nab downtown Manassas prowler 

From Manassas police: On August 15, 2021, the Manassas City Police Department began investigating several property crimes that occurred in the Old Town area. During the overnight hours, on August 15, an unknown individual entered The Things I Love located at 9084 Center St and removed numerous items of value. That same night, items were stolen from a vehicle parked in the Candy Factory parking lot, and a citizen reported an attempted burglary at a residence in the 9500 Block of Main St. Additional similar incidents occurred in the weeks following.
