Gas station purse snatcher charged with assault on cop

Another law enforcement officer in our region was assaulted in the line of duty.

This time, the officer was spat on by a 17-year-old boy, police report. He's accused of walking up to a woman at a gas station near Manassas and stealing her purse.

Arrest made in connection to Dale City shooting; suspects also tied to robbery

Shooting Investigation *ARREST | ADDITIONAL INCIDENTS – On May 18, detectives with the Violent Crimes Bureau concluded an investigation into the shooting that was reported to have occurred in the 3500 block of Forestdale Ave. in Woodbridge (22192) on May 7.

The victim, a 19-year-old man, was inside of a vehicle with an acquaintance, identified as the accused when a round was discharged from a firearm. The victim exited the vehicle and fell to the ground where he was located by

bystanders who contacted the police.

The accused fled the scene in his vehicle prior to police arriving at the location. While investigating, detectives determined that the accused, identified as Naseem Isaiah ROULACK, matched the description of a suspect involved in a previous unrelated robbery.

The investigation into the robbery revealed that on the afternoon of May 5, a 17-year-old male juvenile arranged to sell jewelry and clothing to an unknown man, who was later identified as ROULACK. While waiting in a vehicle in the 17300 block of Sligo Lp. in Dumfries to conduct the transaction, the victim and two acquaintances were approached by ROULACK and another unknown man. During the encounter, the suspects brandished firearms and demanded property from the victim and the acquaintances.

When one of the acquaintances, identified as a 20-year-old man, refused to hand over his property, one of the suspect’s struck him with the firearm. The suspects then fled the area on foot while the victim’s drove to an area hospital where police were notified. Jewelry and clothing items were reported missing. The 20-year-old victim who was struck with the firearm reported significant injuries.

During the investigations, detectives determined that ROULACK was connected to both incidents and obtained warrants for his arrest. In addition, detectives identified the second suspect in the robbery as Shanti Negus FELTON and obtained warrants for his arrest.

On May 18, the accused, Naseem Isaiah ROULACK, was located and taken into custody without incident. Attempts to locate FELTON have been unsuccessful.

Officer assaulted

Assault and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On May 27 at 2:47AM, officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 17360 Dumfries Rd. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a man who was refusing to leave the store. Upon arrival, officers located a man, later identified as the accused, who was intoxicated, and subsequently arrested.

While processing the accused at the police station, he attempted to remove his restraints and refused to follow officer’s commands. When officers attempted to re-secure the accused, a struggle ensued where the accused grabbed an officer. Eventually, the accused was secured without further incident.

As officers were transporting the accused to the Adult Detention Center, he attempted to damage the windows of the police cruiser. Officers stopped the vehicle near the intersection of Cardinal Dr. and Minnieville Rd. where the accused then actively resisted officers attempt to re-secure him in the vehicle.

During the second altercation, the accused attempted to kick an officer before spatting on the officer. The officers eventually re-secured the accused and continued the transport. No injuries were reported by the officers. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Sidrat RODRIGUEZ GONZALEZ, was arrested.

LARCENY –Park Ridge Court & Meadow View Court, 5/27, 6:00 a.m. Three victims reported the tires and wheels were stolen off of their vehicles. All three vehicles are Honda Civics. The thefts are believed to have occurred sometime between 10 p.m. on May 26 and 6 a.m. on May 27.

Man, 22 killed in crash in Nokesville

Fatal Crash Investigation — On May 26 at 7:35 p.m., investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the 13300 block of Bristow Rd. in Nokesville (20181) to investigate a crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of 2005 Subaru WRX was traveling northbound on Bristow Rd. when the vehicle crossed over the center line and struck a 2013 Nissan Leaf traveling the opposite direction. The driver of the Subaru was extricated from the vehicle and transported to an area hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries sustained during the crash. The driver of the Nissan was also transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Speed is a factor in the crash. The driver of the Subaru was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. The investigation continues.

Man shot inside Woodbridge apartment complex, police search for shooter

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On May 13 at 9:50 p.m., officers responded to the Misty Ridge Apartments located in the 15000 block of Lost Canyon Ct. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 22-year-old man, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were inside the above location handling a firearm when a round discharged and struck the victim in the lower body. The victim was transported to an area hospital by the accused where police were notified. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Victor Abraham CORNEJO. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

Suspect in armed robbery, strangulation cases surrenders

Police said a suspect involved in the armed robbery that occurred at Tayloe and Gordon Drives near Dale City on May 11 is behind bars. The victim, a 36-year-old man, reported to police that he was contacted by an unknown man who arranged to sell him a large amount of vehicle parts. Shortly after arriving, a white SUV pulled up and parked next to the victim. The driver of the vehicle then approached the victim’s vehicle while brandishing a firearm and demanded money from the victim. Upon receiving the money, the suspect fled the area in the white SUV. No one was injured.

The suspect is also charged with strangling a woman last month. On April 1 at 11:23 a.m, officers responded to investigate a domestic that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 3800 block of Ogilvie Court in Lake Ridge earlier that morning. The victim, a 27-year-old woman, reported to police that she and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. At one point, the accused followed the victim out of the residence where he then grabbed the victim’s throat before pushing her to the ground.

On May 26, the suspect sought in both the robbery and the domestic was arrested. The suspect turned himself in to the police without incident.

Steven David Deane, 32, of the 3800 block of Ogilvie Court in Woodbridge is charged with robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, strangulation, and domestic assault & battery. He’s due in court Date on July 22, 2021.

Man interferes with car tow, strikes officer, police said

Assault and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On May 25 at 8:59AM, officers responded to the 16800 block of Toms River Lp. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate an individual interfering with a vehicle being lawfully towed. While investigating, a man, later identified as the accused, was observed by officers moving the tow truck driver’s equipment. Officers intervened and the accused refused to follow officer’s commands and struck an officer. At that point, the accused was told he was under arrest while continuing to disregard the officer’s commands. After a brief struggle, the accused was taken into custody. During the encounter, the accused struck one officer and grabbed another. Minor injuries were reported by both of the officer’s and the accused. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Carlos Enrique SALGUERO ORELLANA, was arrested.

Manassas City

Suspicious Event -- On May 24, 2021, at approximately 1:38 p.m. officers from the Manassas City Police Department responded to the 9300 block of Prescott Ave. for a suspicious event. The reporting party stated that she retrieved her mail from the mailbox, and located an envelope with the words “Open please anthrax inside” written on the outside. Upon further investigation, officers learned that this was not a credible threat, and that the envelope contained a thank you note card. There is currently no threat to the community. The investigation is ongoing.

Hit and Run -- On May 24, 2021, at approximately 9:03 p.m. officers from the Manassas City Police Department responded to the 8600 block of Mathis Ave. for a hit and run. Officers located an abandoned black Nissan Pathfinder with no tags. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the black Nissan Pathfinder had driven over the curve, and hit a parked white box truck. The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival. Malicious Wounding by Mob *ARREST – On May 24, the additional two suspects wanted in connection to the stabbing that was reported to have occurred in the 1400 block of Bayside Ave. in Woodbridge (22191) on May 10, were arrested. The suspects, Pablo Omar URIAS MORALES and Jose URIAS MORALES, were located in Omaha, Nebraska and taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

Murder Investigation – On October 22, 2020, detectives began to investigate the disappearance of a 25-year-old man who was reported missing by his family. The investigation revealed that the man, identified as Brian TROTTER, was last seen on October 17 leaving his home located in the 18100 block of Kilmer Ln in Triangle (22172) to reportedly travel to Washington DC with a friend, later identified as the accused.

A few days later, family members reported Brian missing to Prince William County police after having no contact with him since he left the home. At the time of Brian’s initial disappearance, there were no indications of foul play which would have classified him as endangered.

On October 25, 2020, Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle crash involving the accused in the Miami-Dade area of the state. During the investigation into the crash, troopers located Brian’s remains in the trunk area of the vehicle.

Brian reportedly suffered from multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide by the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s Office. The accused was subsequently arrested by Florida authorities in connection to the killing.

The investigation into the murder was initially being investigated by Miami-Dade police until probable cause was developed which indicated the death occurred in Prince William County.

On May 24, 2021, after consultation with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, Prince William County homicide detectives obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Robert Avery Dupree COLTRAIN, based on further investigation. The accused remains incarcerated in Florida and is expected to be extradited back to Virginia.

Suspect in stabbing arrested 

Malicious Wounding – On May 20, the suspect sought in connection with the stabbing that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 13900 block of Mathews Dr. in Woodbridge (22191) on May 16, was arrested. The suspect, Malila SMITH, was located and taken into custody by members of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Bullet strikes victim during armed struggle

Armed Robbery – On May 18 at 11:09AM, officers responded to investigate a robbery that was reported to have occurred in the area of Copeland Dr. and Castle Rd. in Manassas (20109) sometime between 11:00PM on May 15 and 1:00AM on May 16. The victim, a 24-year-old man, reported to police that while in the above area, he was approached from behind by two unknown black males. During the encounter, one of the suspects brandished a firearm at the victim and demanded his property. When the victim refused to give them his property, the suspect used the firearm to strike the victim before grabbing on to the victim’s backpack. As the victim continued refusing to let go of the backpack, the suspect fired multiple shots, one of which struck the victim. The suspects then fled the area with the victim’s backpack. The victim eventually contacted the police and reported significant injuries that were a result of the altercation. The backpack containing a firearm, a wallet, and toiletries were reported missing.

Help sought in auto parts con, armed robbery

Armed Robbery *ASSISTANCE REQUESTED – Detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit are asking for the community’s help identifying the suspect involved in the robbery that occurred near Tayloe Dr. and Gordon Dr. in the Manassas area of Prince William County on May 11. During the incident, the suspect took a 36- year-old man’s money while holding him at gunpoint and then fled in a white SUV. During the investigation, detectives obtained a photo of the suspect and his vehicle from a nearby business. The photos are being made publicly available in an attempt to identify the suspect.

Stafford County leaders will begin the process to say goodbye to the now-defunct Stafford Volunteer Rescue Squad.

Out of service since 2018, the Board of Supervisors is to approve a public hearing to remove the rescue squad from its county code due. The volunteer organization suffered a lack of participation from its members, which led to its demise, according to a resolution included in county documents.

If approved, residents will be able to speak before the Board of Supervisors on the matter. A date for the hearing has yet to be proposed.
