Voters will head to the polls on Tuesday for the state’s Primary Election.
Voters statewide will choose who they want to be their respective party’s gubernatorial candidates. In Prince William County, voters will choose Democratic Party candidates in four House of Delegates Races.
Prince William police in late 2011 began seizing more and more heroin on the streets.
It was an early warning sign that the drug was becoming a problem in the community. Since then across the state, the use of heroin, fentanyl, and carfentanyl have exploded. The use of fentanyl alone increased 147% between then and now, according to Virginia State Health Commissioner Dr. Marissa Levine.

lThe Prince William County Board of Supervisors voted 7-0 to reaffirm its support of the overhead and underground hybrid route plan for a new power line in Haymarket.
The I-66 Hybrid Alternative route would build the 234,000 volts, 10-mile power line overhead, connecting with an existing line near the intersection of Route 234 and Interstate 66. The line would then run underground near homes along I-66 until it makes its connection to a power substation near a Walmart in Haymarket.

“House of Mercy on the Manassas/Gainesville border is hosting a day-long “drive-thru” on Thursday, June 8 “Do More 24” Day. People will purchase a new package of underwear, any type, any size, any gender, and drive through the parking lot on June 8 to throw them into a big bin. There will be friendly volunteers there to accept the donations, and provide a tax receipt, if required.

Prince William County must have 340 school buses retrofitted.
The brake interlock system was missing from these buses sold to the school division after March 24, 2011. The interlock stops accidental engagement of the bus’ transmission by requiring the driver to step on the brake before releasing the bus’ parking brake.
