The FredNats made it nine wins in the last ten games Thursday vs. Lynchburg. Clutch swings by Andry Arias and Steven Williams helped to break a late tie and give the FredNats a 3-1 win.

Mason Denaburg put together his most complete start of the season on the mound, going four scoreless innings while allowing just one hit. He struck out six without issuing a walk. Marc Davis picked up the win with three innings of one-run relief.

The FredNats defeated the Delmarva Shorebirds 12-5 on Saturday night to win their 6th straight game, the longest streak of the season. Steven Williams hit his first home run of the season, and Yoander Rivero had three hits and two RBIs in the win.

The FredNats jumped out to a 6-0 lead after three innings, helped out by four Delmarva errors during that time frame. A two-run single by Rivero, two bases loaded walks, and a sacrifice fly from Geraldi Diaz pushed runs across.

The FredNat bats were silent through the first six innings, and Delmarva had all the momentum and a 4-0 lead.

Things took a turn in the 7th, and it culminated in a walk-off single from Steven Williams in the 10th inning as the FredNats came all the way back to win 5-4 and win their 4th straight game. Tonight was Fredericksburg’s 4th walk-off win of the season.

The Fredericksburg Nationals continued to roll against Delmarva Wednesday at Virginia Credit Union Stadium, running away from the Shorebirds 15-4.

Branden Boissiere led the offensive explosion with four RBIs, including three on a bases loaded double in the third vs. Delmarva starter Conor Grady (3-5). He also scored twice. Jacob Young enjoyed a four hit night that included two runs scored and two RBIs. He came up just a home run shy of the cycle.

Rutledge ran into a bit of trouble in the 2nd inning when Delmarva put runners on the corner with one out, but the sinkerballer righty induced an inning-ending double play, and it was smooth sailing after that. Rutledge retired the final 11 men in a row, and has a scoreless streak of 13 innings and counting at home.

De La Rosa started a FredNat rally in the 3rd with a two-out single, and after he stole second, Leandro Emiliani roped a double to the right field corner to score De La Rosa and make it 1-0 FredNats.

The Fredericksburg Nationals came back in dramatic fashion to split the six-game series in Salem Sunday. The FredNats fell behind 4-0 in the first but rallied to leave with a 7-6 win.

Viandel Pena led the furious comeback effort with three hits and four RBIs, including a game-tying single in the sixth and a go-ahead two-RBI triple in the eighth. Sammy Infante went deep for the 13th time this season. He also picked up his 13th double.

Jeremy De La Rosa homered and the FredNat bullpen pitched four shutout innings, but the Salem Red Sox held on for a 5-4 win over the FredNats on Wednesday night in Salem. However, due to Carolina’s loss to Down East, the FredNats are still alive for a first-half championship.

The Red Sox scored first in the 2nd inning on a two-run home run from Tyler Miller and an RBI double from Brainer Bonaci. The FredNats answered right back in the top of the 3rd on a two-run home run from De La Rosa off the top of the wall in left field. It was De La Rosa’s 7th of the year, and the lead was cut to 3-2.

The Fredericksburg Nationals won an extra-inning thriller for the second time in as many games Tuesday at Carillion Clinic Field. Vandel Pena scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the tenth inning to help the FredNats to an 8-7 victory.

The win comes at a critical time for the FredNats, who gained a game on Salem, Lynchburg and division-leading Carolina. The FredNats, Red Sox and Hillcats are now all tied for second in the Carolina League North. All three teams are one game behind the Mudcats with two games to go in the first half. The FredNats own the head-to-head tiebreaker vs. Carolina and Lynchburg and will own the tiebreaker vs. Salem with a win tomorrow or Thursday. The FredNats also won in extras Sunday at Myrtle Beach.
