The DMV Select at Dumfries Town Hall will remain shuttered indefinitely.

Town Manager Keith Rogers told members of the Town Council at a meeting on Tuesday, November 17. He plans to keep the center shuttered until the number of new coronavirus cases reported in Prince William County decline.

The Prince William Board of County Supervisors does not have the power to dissolve the Dumfries-Triangle Rescue Squad, the Virginia Supreme Court ruled today.

The decision overturns a decision by a lower Prince William County Circuit Court that previously ruled in the county’s favor, that asserted the rescue squad’s “very existence is at the whim of the county,” court documents state.

Three seats are up for grabs on the Dumfries Town Council on November 3, and Ebony Lofton, the current President of the South Cove Homeowners Association, is running a write-in campaign to win one.

CFH, Inc. a 41-year-old Northern Virginia nonprofit in Dumfries, has announced its plans for the 3rd Annual CFH 5k Run-Walk for Affordable Housing.

The 2020 CFH Help Pay the Rent Event, which will fund rental assistance and other programs that help seniors and families stay in their homes, will be a virtual 5k in which registrants can complete the course of their choosing any time from November 14-22.
