It’s time for fresh, locally grown food

On April 9 the City of Manassas Farmer’s Market opened for the season. This is the 24^th season the City’s Farmer’s Market has been delivering fresh produce and goods to residents and visitors of the City of Manassas. On Thursdays, the Farmer’s Market is located in the Harris Pavilion and on Saturdays it is located in parking lot B or the water tower lot. Both markets are open from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. In June, July and August there is a summer evening market from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Harris Pavilion.

Dumfries woman charged, another wanted for assault with pepper spray

The Prince William police responded to a call on Monday evening in Dumfries to investigate an assault.

According to a Prince William police release, the victim of the assault, a 30-year old Woodbridge woman, said that one suspect, who was a friend, approached her car that was parked in front of a residence.

On May 2, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the Manassas Airshow is bringing in Breitling Jet Team, the largest professional civilian flight jet team. This team demonstrates aerobatics with precision, speed, mastery and style. The Breitling Team coordinates a meticulous ballet in which planes sometimes fly within three meters of each other at speeds of over 700 kilometers per hour.

Triangle man charged with sexual battery of two students

Wesley Earl Phillips, a 20-year old Triangle man, has been arrested and charged with two counts of sexual battery by the Prince William County Police Department.

Detectives from the Prince William police’s Special Victims unit were called on February 13 to investigate reports of sexual battery at the PACE-East School on Joplin Road in Manassas, according to a Prince William police release.

Here’s how the Bi-County Parkway could still happen

Traffic on I-95 south near Va. 234 was congested Monday afternoon, July 30, 2012, following a serious crash on the HOV lanes.

You may count the Bi-County Parkway down, but don’t count it out.

The Virginia Department of Transportation is no longer seeking federal funds for the 10-mile highway that would link travelers on Interstate 95 in Dumfries to I-66, and ultimately to Dulles Airport in Loudoun County.

Futrell, Qarni and McPike to meet for Prince William Primary Debates

The three candidates – Jeremy McPike, Delegate Michael Futrell and Atif Qarni – are hoping to fill the long held seat of Senator Chuck Colgan, will debate local issues concerning governance in the district, which includes Prince William County and Manassas.

The candidates will take part in a state-run primary on June 9, which will decide who will go against Republican challenger Hal Parrish, Mayor for the City of Manassas, in November.

Four candidates for elected office in Prince William County will meet for two separate debates Saturday, April 11.

First at 5:30 p.m., incumbent Prince William County Board of Supervisors Chairman, At-large Corey Stewart will meet his Republican challenger Chris Crawford to debate local issues concerning governance of Prince William County and the task of leading its Board of Supervisors. Both men are candidates in an April 25 party canvass, also known as a “firehouse” primary where Republican voters will decide who will go on to face Democrat challenger Rick Smith in November.

Woodbridge man dies after hitting telephone pole in Triangle

On March 17, Prince William police’s Crash Investigation unit responded to a call about a single vehicle crash near Graham Park Drive and Olde Port Lane in Triangle.

According to a Prince William police release, their investigation showed that the driver of the vehicle, a 2004 Nissan Maxima, was traveling on Graham Park Road at a high speed.
