Growing up in Mapledale in the 1990s, as I did, there were few places you could get to by walking.

In the neighborhood in Dale City, there was, and still is Giant Food grocery store, and there were two gas stations — a Mobile (now the site of a Sheetz) and an Amoco (now a BP station).

Eastbound Dale Boulevard (Route 784) between Minnieville Road and Forestdale Avenue will have daytime lane closures (weather permitting) Monday, April 6 through Friday, April 10 to replace a stormwater pipe, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The single-lane closures will occur between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. each day.


The Dominos pizza corporation is reacting today to a social media post that alleges a manager at its Dale City location is forcing sick people to work.

The post on Facebook alleges that managers and a driver are sick, and were told to come to work after they told management they wanted to be tested, presumably, for the coronavirus disease. The post was shared with Potomac Local News:

Police are searching for three men wanted in connection to a shooting that was reported in 4700 block of Pearson Drive Dale City on December 19, 2019.

The men are accused of following the victim and his acquaintance from MGM National Harbor casino to Pearson Drive in Dale City where the victim was robbed at gunpoint and then shot.


Prince William police press release | Strong-Arm Robbery *ARREST – On January 28, the two suspects sought in connection to the strong- arm robbery that was reported to have occurred in the 15200 block of Barnabas Trail in Dale City on January 19, were arrested. Members of the Richmond City Police Department located both suspects and took them into custody.
