After thunderstorms rolled through our region Friday night, there was quite the light show.
This photo was taken of storm cloud packed with lightning over North Stafford at 11:50 p.m., long after the thunderstorms that fired up earlier in the afternoon had rolled out.
In a recent online list, Leesylvania State Park in Woodbridge was ranked as one of the most “lesser known” parks in Virginia.
The park is located along the Potomac River in Woodbridge. It’s the site of the home of Major-Gen. Henry “Light Horse Harry” Lee who served in the Revolutionary War and as the ninth governor of the state. He was also the father of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee.

It’s time for the year’s first outdoor festival in historic Downtown Manassas.
The 11th Annual Live Well Festival, will be held on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Harris Pavilion and along West Street. Health and wellness information, exercise classes, a farm-to-table brunch, paint class and more will be available.

Fire and rescue crews were called to Interstate 95 south at Dale Boulevard about 9:40 a.m. after a vehicle crashed and closed in the center and left lanes.
The right southbound lane of traffic and the collector lane for drivers entering and exiting the rest area are the only lanes open to traffic.

Virginia American Water will begin flushing the water mains in its Alexandria and Prince William (Dale City) distribution systems beginning Monday, April 17. Flushing will take place until the end of June.
