Update: Fred Lynn Middle School students and staff are safe and have re-entered the school after being evacuated for a gas leak. The Fire Department and gas company have given the all-clear. Students will be given lunch. Dismissal will be at the regular time.

North Stafford, Va. — The race for a fitter, leaner Potomac Communities kicked off Saturday with North Stafford Rotary Club’s Fitness Challenge 2012.
About 200 contestants came to North Stafford High School to be weighed in and to have their percentage for body fat measured, all competing for the chance to win $1,000, a trip to the Bahamas, as well as other prizes.
Woodbridge, Va. — It could be this fall, at the start of the new school year, when a small bridge on Blackburn Road will be reopened.
Prince William Woodbridge Supervisor Frank Principi stated the two-lane bridge near Rippon Boulevard needs to be replaced at a cost of $1 million, and that a portion of Blackburn Road will remain closed as repairs are made.
Quantico, Va. — NFL players this weekend will help some of this nation’s combat warrior’s transition back into daily life after returning from battle.
The NFL Players Association along with the Real Warriors Campaign will host a special “Game Day” event at Quantico. Former professional football players will join military members and their families to play a few games, to socialize and talk about the importance of asking for help during some of life’s difficult transition points, according to a press release.
