LAKE RIDGE, Va. — A man was robbed at gunpoint in Lake Ridge on Wednesday.
The 38-year-old victim was walking in the 12600 block of Harbor Drive when a man with a gun approached him, told him to lay on the ground, and then the demanded his wallet.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — The Washington Nationals today announced they have agreed on two-year Player Development Contracts extensions (2013-14) with the Syracuse Chiefs of the Triple-A International League, the Harrisburg Senators of the Double-A Eastern League, the Potomac Nationals of the Single-A Carolina League and the Auburn Doubledays of the Short-season Single-A New York-Penn League.
Nationals Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo, Nationals Assistant General Manager and Vice President/Player Development Bob Boone and Director of Player Development Doug Harris made the joint announcement.

Prince William County Supervisors unanimously approved special use permits for a Walgreens Pharmacy, a Pollo Campero restaurant, and a new BB&T Bank that will be built at the shopping center. STAFFORD, Va. — A road that carries commuters and thousands of school children is about to get an improvement.
Stafford County transportation officials Thursday held a public meeting about improvements to Mountain View Road. Last night, officials showed plans for improving about a half-mile stretch of the two lane road between Rose Hill Farm Drive and Pickett Lane. It’s the second section of a two-phase project aimed at modernizing the road, a thoroughfare which carries students to Margaret Brent Elementary and Mountain View High schools.

DUMFRIES, Va. — A former Dumfries police officer of eight years is behind bars, charged with the sodomy of another man.
A 27-year-old Fredericksburg man told police and the FBI that he was sexually assaulted when he was a child between the ages of 12 and 16-years-old. Police said the assaults took place between 1996 and 2001.
