Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: “When the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office has its eyes on you, a pursuit won’t last long. A wanted Fredericksburg man discovered this Friday afternoon in South Stafford.”

“On June 2nd at approximately 6:08 p.m., deputies with the Special Problems Unit were in the England Run subdivision attempting to locate David Martin Jr, 33. Martin was wanted out of Stafford for two counts of possession of controlled substances. It didn’t take long for deputies to spot Martin and attempt to make contact with him. Martin attempted a great escape using his vehicle, and in the process, he struck a deputies unmarked vehicle.”

This spike in violent and property crimes has impacted every corner of Prince William County, and our communities yearn for a leader who can decrease crime and ensure the safety of their neighborhoods and schools.

InsideNova reported that violent crime has risen to pre-pandemic levels, including the fact that there were double the number of homicides in 2022 compared to 2021. Violent and property crime rates often rise with warmer weather and it’s those types of crimes that the county is having issues with.

Prince William County Parks and Recreation Department: “This morning [Saturday, June 3, 2023], community members, area disc golfers, volunteers, staff, and leaders from both Prince William County Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism, and NOVA Disc Golf Association who were involved with making the new disc golf course a reality, gathered for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Forest Valley Disc Golf course. The new 18-hole course, lauded to be “the best woods course” in the area and perhaps the Mid-Atlantic, is located at Forest Greens Golf Club in Triangle, Virginia.”

“I am so excited that this day is here! I’ve got disc golf in my district, and I am so excited about that,” said Potomac District Supervisor Andrea O. Bailey. “It is so important—the exercise, the recreation for the body, for the mind, for the spirit. And this will also open the world for more people to learn about disc golf.”

MAXIMUM WINDS WERE ESTIMATED TO BE 95 MPH. PATH LENGTH WAS 1.5 MILES AND WAS 50 TO 100 YARDS WIDE. THE STORM IMPACTED THE COMMUNITY OF WOODS OF ABEL LAKE LOCATED ON THE SOUTH END OF ABEL RESERVOIR. DAMAGE WAS CONFINED MAINLY TO TREE DAMAGE.”
